How we work

Coordinating the steps towards settled housing.

A housing move involves the household, the referring organisation and the housing provider. LizB&Che helps coordinate the information, nominations and practical next steps between them.

Talk to our team

Four stages

From referral to an agreed move.

These stages explain how coordination can progress. Checks, documents and decisions vary between referrals. A referral or nomination does not guarantee an offer of accommodation.

01

Referral

Confirm the referral route and understand the household’s circumstances, housing requirements and the information needed to proceed.

02

Preparation

Help gather the applicant information and supporting documents needed for consideration, with the household and referring organisation.

03

Property & nomination

Explore potential property opportunities and coordinate a nomination or application where appropriate. The housing provider assesses the applicant against its requirements.

04

Placement

Where an offer is accepted, coordinate agreed actions around the move and communicate the outcome to the relevant parties.

Shared responsibilities

Who does what?

Clear responsibilities help everyone understand the next step. LizB&Che coordinates the process while councils and providers retain the housing decisions they are responsible for.

Councils and referrers

Referring organisations share the relevant housing information and requirements through the agreed route. Councils retain responsibility for their housing decisions.

Housing provider

Assesses nominations under its eligibility, affordability and lettings requirements, then decides whether to offer a property.

Information flow

The right information at the right stage.

Accurate information helps referrals progress. Confirm the agreed sharing route before sending personal documents and provide only what is needed for the next stage.

Household circumstances and housing requirements

Keeping the team informed

Tell us when circumstances change.

If you are an applicant, tell your named contact about changes to your circumstances, housing needs or contact details. Ask if you are unsure what information is needed. Councils and providers should also let the team know about changes affecting a referral or property opportunity.
